Barbados’ Crop Over Festival is the island’s biggest celebration — a vibrant mix of music, dance, food, and culture dating back to the 18th century, when enslaved Africans celebrated the end of the sugar cane harvest.
Today, it’s a world-famous carnival-style event packed with high-energy fetes, colorful costumes, lively street parades, and the infectious beats of soca and calypso. The season peaks with Grand Kadooment Day, where masqueraders dance through the streets in dazzling feathers and sequins, creating one of the most unforgettable parties in the Caribbean.
